Pressure is already building for more utility legislation in North Carolina, even as Duke Energy Corp. and state representatives call for time to implement and evaluate major changes made in 2021. Experts on the State Energy Policy panel at the University of North Carolina's Clean Energy Summit made that clear. All five applauded the effort that went in to 2021's Energy Solutions for NC Act, which mandated the N.C. Carbon Plan to reduce electric utility emissions to net zero and reworked rate incentives for for the companies.
