Plans for a new senior living development on land that was initially eyed for a grocery store are moving forward in Apex. Evergreen Construction Company of Raleigh, which specializes in senior and family rental properties, acquired the 5-acre site near the intersection of W. Williams Street (Highway 55) and Olive Chapel Road in Apex from German grocer Lidl for $2.55 million on Nov. 30, according to Wake County deed records. Evergreen is planning to develop Abbey Spring, an 84-unit affordable senior housing community.
